RCB vs GT Tonight — Can Patidar's men defend the title, or will Gujarat Titans steal the crown?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will battle for the IPL 2026 title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. RCB are aiming to win back-to-back trophies after ending their long wait for a maiden IPL title in 2025. Led by Rajat Patidar, the defending champions enter the final with confidence after crushing the Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1.

RCB's strength has been their all-round performance this season. Patidar has been in outstanding form, while Virat Kohli and the rest of the batting unit have consistently delivered. Their bowling attack, featuring Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Jacob Duffy, Krunal Pandya and Rasikh Salam, has also played a key role by regularly picking up wickets and restricting opponents in crucial moments.

However, the Gujarat Titans have shown that they are more than capable of challenging the defending champions. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan starred in Qualifier 2 with a match-winning 167-run opening partnership against Rajasthan Royals. With experienced players such as Jos Buttler, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada and Washington Sundar in their ranks, GT have the firepower to trouble any team on their day.

The final promises to be a thrilling contest between two of the strongest teams of the season. While RCB will look to defend their crown and secure a second consecutive title, Gujarat Titans will be eager to lift their second IPL trophy after their memorable triumph in 2022. With both teams packed with match-winners and a batting-friendly pitch expected in Ahmedabad, fans can look forward to a high-scoring and exciting finale.
