Watch: Akeal Hossein shows mask celebration after Tilak Varma's wicket during MI vs CSK clash in IPL 2026
The left-arm spinner, Akeal Hossein, displayed his mask celebration after taking the wicket of Tilak Varma during the MI vs CSK clash of the Indian Premier League 2026.

When the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted a massive score of 207 runs in the first innings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the aim for the visitors was to pick early wickets with the ball, and the left-arm spinner, Akeal Hossein, was excellent with the new ball inside the powerplay overs.
It was not a great performance from the Mumbai Indians during the power play as they ended up losing three wickets, which put massive pressure and didn’t let the fourth wicket stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, who needed to repair the batting.

Varma and SKY put up a decent stand of 73 runs off 56 balls for the fourth wicket to settle the nerves. But it was never going to be enough as the required run rate went over the 14-mark, which increased the pressure on one of the batters to play some big shots.
And Akeal Hossein, the left-arm spinner, continuing his good work from the powerplay, found the wicket of Varma for 37 runs off 29 balls. It was a full and straight outside the off stump. The southpaw swung across the line and lost his shape.

Hossein ended up with figures of 4/17 in four overs with a maiden at an economy rate of just 4.2.
CSK earns a massive 103-run victory against MI
Chennai posted a massive score of 207 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, with opener Sanju Samson celebrating a strong knock of 101 runs off just 54 balls, while the rest of the batters contributed with small innings. AM Ghazanfar was excellent for his figures of 2/25 in four overs.
