'Ghante ka king': Fans slam Babar Azam after 7-run dismissal in ENG vs PAK 3rd Test despite mentioning himself as POTS

Fans mocked Babar Azam after his seven-run dismissal in the ENG vs PAK 3rd Test, recalling his earlier claim about being Pakistan’s Player of the Series.

Babar Azam’s poor run with the bat continued in the third Test against England at Edgbaston. The Pakistan captain was clean bowled by Josh Tongue for just seven runs in the morning session. His dismissal left Pakistan struggling at 48/5 after 15 overs as England’s bowlers dominated the early stages of the match.

The pressure was already high on Babar after Pakistan lost the first two Tests of the series at Headingley and Lord’s. With the team’s batting struggling throughout the tour, the Pakistan captain was expected to lead from the front. However, his early dismissal once again raised questions about his form and added to Pakistan’s problems on Day 1.

After Babar’s dismissal, fans quickly started mocking the Pakistan skipper on social media. The reactions also referred to his previous press conference, where he spoke about his poor run and mentioned himself as the Player of the Series from his previous West Indies series. Fans used those comments to troll him after another low score.

Babar Azam dismissed for just 7 runs in ENG vs PAK 3rd Test

England won the toss and captain Joe Root decided to bowl first at Edgbaston. His pacers made the most of the conditions and put Pakistan under pressure from the start. Jofra Archer, Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue picked up early wickets as Pakistan struggled to build partnerships.

Josh Tongue made an immediate impact after being brought into the attack in the 15th over. He dismissed Babar Azam with a good-length delivery that went under the bat and hit the top of the off-stump. Babar faced 18 balls and scored only seven runs before walking back to the pavilion, continuing his difficult run with the bat.

Saud Shakeel offered some resistance for Pakistan with 24 runs off 25 balls, while debutant Ghazi Ghori was yet to open his account. The pair tried to steady the innings after the early collapse, but England remained firmly in control. The hosts' dominant bowling display left Pakistan in a difficult position early on.

Babar's POTS claim and what led to fan backlash

Babar Azam’s recent batting struggles have put his Test form under increasing pressure. The criticism grew after England took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with a 194-run win at Lord’s. Pakistan also struggled with the bat in the second Test, failing to score 200 runs in either innings.

During a press conference, a journalist questioned Babar about his Test form and the PCB’s decision to drop players such as Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. Babar defended his recent performances and pointed to his success against the West Indies. “If we’re talking about performers, I think I was the Player of the Series last time,” Babar said.

Babar was named Player of the Series in Pakistan’s Test series against the West Indies after scoring 193 runs at an average of 96.50. However, he struggled in the second Test against England at Lord’s, scoring only eight and six runs in the two innings. His latest 7-run dismissal at Edgbaston has now added further pressure and led to more criticism from fans.

‘Ghante Ka King’: How fans and netizens reacted to Babar’s dismissal

Babar Azam’s early dismissal once again drew strong reactions from fans on social media. The Pakistan captain was dismissed for just seven runs by Josh Tongue in the third Test against England at Edgbaston. His low score added to the criticism surrounding his recent form.

Many fans used the opportunity to mock Babar after his latest failure with the bat. Some referred to his earlier comments about being the Player of the Series in Pakistan’s previous Test series against the West Indies. Comments such as “Ghante ka King” appeared across social media as fans criticised the Pakistan batter.

The reactions quickly spread online, with several netizens questioning Babar’s performance and leadership. His latest dismissal has increased the pressure on the Pakistan captain, who will be expected to bounce back in the upcoming innings and help his team recover from the difficult start.
