Ishan Kishan's act made headlines
However, India A had a poor show in the first innings. But India A bounced back soon after at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, with Mukesh Kumar's six-wicket haul laying the foundation. Australia A started Day 2 on 99 for 4 and could manage only under 100 runs before being bowled out. In response, India A showed a better batting performance with Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal smashed all over the park as well. At stumps, they finished on 208 for 2, taking their lead to 120 runs as well.
Meanwhile, Australia A captain Nathan McSweeney and Cooper Connolly started the day well, trying to push past India A's total quickly and push the lead too. Connolly in particular looked comfortable until he hit a delivery from Mukesh to Manav Suthar at square leg. Soon, Josh Phillippe got out in Mukesh's next over while Nitish Reddy ended McSweeney's stay in the middle to push Australia A further down to 136 for 7 as well. Through Todd Murphy's 33, Australia A pushed the total a little further before being bowled out for 195, as Mukesh finished with figures of 6 for 46 as well.

However, India A started their second innings with a short of 88 runs and they were reduced to 30 for 2 as both openers - Abhimanyu Easwaran and Ruturaj Gaikwad - departed very cheaply. But Sudharsan and Padikkal made a solid stand with 178 runs, which was unbroken by the end of the day as well.

While Sai Sudharsan faced 185 balls for his 96*-run knock - including 9 fours, Padikkal smashed 167 deliveries for his 80*-run knock with five boundaries as well. However, the latter even got a life at 31 when he hit one ball from Fergus O'Neill straight to McSweeney at short extra cover as well, which became a no-ball. He used the chance to push the team ahead without any further damage as well.
However, Sudarshan smashed 103 off 200 whereas Padikkal scored 88 as well and India managed 312 runs in their second innings. On the other hand, Australia A managed to post 139 for 3 at the stumps on Day 3.
