Hosts India Women comfortably sealed the Women's T20I series against Sri Lanka Women by claiming another easy victory in the third game of the series, as the Women in Blues are leading this five-match series by 3-0 with two matches to go.

Thiruvananthapuram hosted the third game of the series on Friday night (December 26), where India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur chose to field first after winning the toss once again. While Sri Lanka Women were restricted to 112/7 in 20 overs, India Women chased down the target in 13.2 overs after losing two wickets.

Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma dominated with the ball

Indian pacer Renuka Singh and off-spinner Deepti Sharma dominated with the ball, while the other bowlers provided strong support, as the Lankan batters once again failed to make any impact.

The Lankan double-digit scorers were opener Hasini Perera (25), Imesha Dulani (27), Kavisha Dilhari (20), and Kaushini Nuthyangana (19*).

Among the Indian bowlers, Renuka Singh had the bowling figures of 4-1-21-4, as she won the Player of the Match award, and Deepti Sharma finished with the bowling figures of 4-0-18-3. Deepti completed her 150 wickets in Women's T20I career and became the first bowler to record 150 wickets in both WODI and WT20I career. Soon, with another wicket, Deepti equalled Australian Megan Schutt's achievement of most WT20I wickets with 151 wickets in this format.

Shafali Verma handled chase alone

In reply, although the opener Smriti Mandhana (1) and Jemimah Rodrigues (9) were dismissed cheaply, another opener Shafali Verma played a powerful innings, as the visitors had no answer to defend the little total. Shafali scored 79 not out off 42 balls with 11 fours and three sixes, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 21 not out off 18 balls, as India Women comfortably won the match with their 48-run partnership for the unbroken third wicket.

Among the Lankan bowlers, only the spinner Kavisha Dilhari got both the wickets, as she had the bowling figures of 3-0-18-2.
