A video claiming to show a fight between players of India and Pakistan has gone viral on social media during their ICC Women T20 World Cup 2026 match. In the video, a Pakistan cricketer seems to attack an Indian batter in the middle of the pitch, after which umpires and players come between the two.

The video soon went viral and brought much discussion among the cricket fans. A lot of people were wondering if it really happened during the high-stakes India vs Pakistan match at Edgbaston.

Viral video or real fight? — Here is what actually happened between India and Pakistan players during Women's T20 World Cup 2026

A closer look at the video will reveal that it is fake. There was no such event that happened during the Women's T20 world cup match between India and Pakistan. There was no fight, argument, or physical confrontation with players from either side. 

The viral video seems to have been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. Although at first it sort of looks like a real thing, in fact, the event shown in the video didn’t really happen. Fans are being advised not to trust or share the video without fact checking.

Instead of controversy, the match was remembered for India's excellent all-round performance and some outstanding individual displays.

India beat Pakistan by 64 runs — A perfect start to their Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign

India Women kicked off their T20 World Cup journey on a high note with a commanding victory against Pakistan Women by 64 runs at Edgbaston. 

Batting first, India scored 170/6 in their 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana was the star with a superb 68 off 44 balls and captain Harmanpreet Kaur added 36 runs. Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 34 off just 17 deliveries. For Pakistan, Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Pakistan struggled against India's spin attack. Muneeba Ali was the top scorer with 41 runs, but wickets kept falling at the other end. Shree Charani impressed with figures of 3/21, while Deepti Sharma produced a match-winning spell of 5/10 in four overs.

A crowd of 18,814 attended the match, making it the highest-attended group-stage game in Women's T20 World Cup history. India will next face Netherlands Women, while Pakistan Women will take on South Africa Women in their next Group A matches.
