In Match 3 of the 2025 Global Super League season, Hobart Hurricanes began their season with a comprehensive 7-wicket victory against Dubai Capitals at Guyana's Providence Stadium. After opting to bowl first, the Hurricanes' spin duo of Mohammad Nabi (3/21) and Fabian Allen (3/21) held Dubai to 141/8 in 20 overs. Gulbadin Naib scored the most with 31 (27), while Sediqullah Atal added a fast 25 (11), but Dubai was never able to gain complete steam.

In response, Hobart easily chased the target in 17 overs at 142/3. Macalister Wright anchored the innings with 50 off 47 and Ben McDermott took over the chase with a blistering 48 off 24 balls. After this win, the Hobart Hurricanes reached the number one position in the GSL 2025 points table with 2 points and a strong NRR of +1.303. Dubai Capitals, with a win and a loss, are placed third on the table with 2 points and an NRR of -0.053.
