Rohit Sharma, who missed the South Africa series, will take the helm in the upcoming home series against the West Indies after juggling the ODI and T20I squads. A couple of fresh faces and a name that is looking to revive the 18-member camp.
He has been out for a while because of a knee injury, but wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is close to making a comeback.

India will host the West Indies for a five-match series starting on February 6, and the 27-year-old bowler is among the Indian contingent. In the ODI series against South Africa, India failed to pick up wickets at crucial times. In his return to international cricket, Kuldeep has seen limited opportunities and a mediocre season with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Harbhajan Singh, the former India tweaker, believes Kuldeep is going to have an uphill task since he has not played competitive cricket since June. Harbhajan is hopeful that Kuldeep can get a few early wickets and give the game a different feel. A combined three wickets were taken by R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal & Jayant Yadav in 59 overs in South Africa. Kuldeep and Ravi Bishnoi are among the new additions to the team’s spin attack. Harbhajan will work with left-arm wrist-spinner Chahal again, and the Indian camp has been asked to stick with Kuldeep and give him enough time.

“I only suggest that you give him enough time and confidence because you have shown conviction in his past performances. I am confident that he will be a valuable asset for India,” stated Harbhajan, who had over 700 wickets in international cricket.
