It is the time for the Super Eights of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which is starting with the New Zealand vs Pakistan match of Group 2. Both New Zealand and Pakistan were runners-up of their respective groups during the group stage of the tournament. 

R Premadasa Stadium (Colombo) is hosting the first game of the Super Eights in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The ground pitches have challenged the batters, while the pacers and spinners have both enjoyed the bowling. 

In Group A of the group stage, Pakistan beat the Netherlands and the United States of America before suffering a big defeat against arch-rivals India, while winning their last game by a big margin against Namibia.

Meanwhile, New Zealand claimed three comfortable wins against Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada, while suffering a defeat against South Africa in Group D.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to bat first. 

Although the toss happened on time, the beginning of the match will be delayed due to rain.

New Zealand made three changes in the playing XI. Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, and Lockie Ferguson have replaced Cole McConchie, Kyle Jamieson, and Jacob Duffy.

Pakistan made only one change in their playing XI, as Fakhar Zaman has returned to the squad as a replacement for Khawaja Nafay.
