The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly shortlisted the venues for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which India and Sri Lanka will jointly host in February-March 2026. A total of eight venues have been reportedly shortlisted.
According to the latest ESPNcricinfo report, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is likely to be played between February 7 and March 8, 2026. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been chosen for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 Final, unless Pakistan qualify for the Final, for which the Final will be hosted by a Sri Lankan venue.
Venues for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026
From India, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai will host the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 matches. Meanwhile, two venues from Colombo and another venue from Kandy will host the Sri Lanka-leg fixtures in the tournament.
When will the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 be released?
According to the latest PTI report, the ICC is likely to reveal the complete schedule for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 next week. This tournament will run in the same process as the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 was hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
A total of 20 teams will participate in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, as there will be five teams in each of the four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, where the qualified teams will be divided into two groups with four teams each. The top two teams from each Super Eight group will advance to the Semi-finals of the tournament, while the Semi-final winners will have the ultimate face-off in the Final to lift the trophy.
Pakistan are set to play all their matches in Sri Lanka. All the qualifications for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 have been completed, as all 20 teams have been confirmed for the tournament. Hosts India will also play the upcoming T20 World Cup as the defending champions.
