Full list: ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2027 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia

Twelve venues across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia were declared as the hosts for next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The marquee 50-over competition returns to Africa after 24 years. Back in 2003, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya hosted the eighth Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The spectacular ceremony in Johannesburg will see eight cities across South Africa, three in Zimbabwe, and Namibia’s capital Windhoek unveiled as the co-hosts for the competition. South Africa’s cricketing icons Temba Bavuma, Kagiso Rabada, and Makhaya Ntini, and Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza mark the momentous occasions.

The eight selected venues in South Africa for the ODI WC 2027 are: Wanderers Stadium (Johannesburg), Centurion (Tshwane), Newlands Cricket Ground (Cape Town), St George’s Park (Gqeberha), Mangaung Oval (Bloemfontein), Boland Park (Paarl), Buffalo Park (formerly known as East London), and Kingsmead Cricket Ground (Durban). 

In Zimbabwe, the three venues, the Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club (Bulawayo), Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium (Victoria Falls), and the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, will also host the WC.

The unveiling of the host cities and the tournament brand signals the start of a journey that will unite fans around the world and build anticipation for one of our sport’s biggest global events.” The ICC chairman, Jay Shah, revealed in a statement.

“The return of this prestigious tournament to Africa after 24 years is a landmark moment for cricket. We are confident that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will deliver an unforgettable event, showcasing the warmth, passion and rich diversity that make this region truly unique.” He addressed.  

ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2027 qualification scenarios: Which teams can still make it

The ICC Cricket WC 2027 will feature 57 matches, offering greater context and consequences with the new three-stage format that will deliver more competitive cricket and enhance the fan experience.

A Super Series will see three teams ranked from 12 to 14 play a round-robin format, with the winning team moving to the next stage of the competition. A 30-match round will feature 12 teams, with the teams being divided into two groups of six playing a round-robin format.

The Super 7 will consist of 21 round-robin matches, with the top four sides progressing to the semifinals. The team that tops the Super Seven will face the fourth-placed side, and the second-placed side will take on the third-placed side in the semifinals.
