IND vs ENG: Bairstow Praises HPCA Stadium Ground Staff Ahead of Fifth Test.England batter Jonny Bairstow has lauded the ground staff at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala ahead of his team’s final Test against India. He commended their exceptional work in managing a pitch that had seen action in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

Bairstow’s Acknowledgment: Groundstaff’s Crucial Role

In contrast to previous remarks from the England camp, particularly led by Ben Stokes, Bairstow’s commendations carry a positive tone. Speaking to the press before the highly anticipated final match against India, Bairstow deferred pitch discussions until the game kicks off on Thursday, March 7th.

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium in Dharamsala served as the home ground for Himachal’s Ranji Team, hosting matches four times during the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. The most recent encounter at the stadium featured Himachal facing off against Delhi on February 9th.

Bairstow’s Milestone: A Crucial Test for Player and Team

Despite being used for a full-fledged match just a month ago, Bairstow highlighted the remarkable efforts of the ground staff, praising their work on both the outfield and the pitch.

“They have done an exceptional job with the outfield here in Dharamsala. It looks immaculate. The ground is undeniably one of the most picturesque venues in the world. Simply incredible,” Bairstow remarked.

Thursday’s clash will witness England striving for a consolation win, as India has already clinched the series with a 3-1 victory after their triumph in the Ranchi Test. However, the match holds special significance for Bairstow as it marks his 100th Test appearance for his side.

Throughout the ongoing India series, the batter has faced a challenging time, with his usual batting prowess eluding him for most of it. Bairstow has accumulated a mere 170 runs in his 8 innings against the home side, with only his 38 off 35 balls in the Ranchi Test deemed impactful.

Bairstow aims to make his historic Test count for both himself and the team, provided he can overcome his rough patch and deliver a strong performance in England’s final attempt to secure a respectable result on Thursday.
