"That's big, high into the night sky..." Ravi Shastri screamed when Ravindra Jadeja launched a Lungi Ngidi delivery far into the stand for a 109m maximum.
Ravindra Jadeja's entry as the number 4 batter, when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was chasing 213, scored by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), put many cricket fans in surprise. Ayush Mhatre was on the pitch, firing on all cylinders, players like Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube waiting for their turns, and CSK sent Jadeja into the park; this decision from the five-time IPL-winning franchise was not convincing for every spectator.
Jadeja, in his prime days, was a different gravy. Now at the age of 36, bags full of experiences, he proved his worth when he scored an unbeaten 77 by playing 45 deliveries. The way CSK was batting last night, they could have easily achieved the target of over 200 runs set by RCB. But a DRS drama caused the Dewald Brevis wicket, discontinued CSK's batting continuity, and they lost the match by some inches. But it wasn't able to tarnish Ravindra Jadeja's power-hitting performance at M Chinnaswamy.

One of the most highlighted moments of Jadeja's 77*-run innings was when he took the ball to the sky for a huge six in a Lungi Ngidi over. It was the same over when the South African pacer claimed back-to-back two wickets and was on a hat trick, which he didn't succeed in. In the 17th over of the second innings, Ngidi sent Mhatre (94) and Brevis back to the dugout.

In the 5th ball of the 17th over, the RCB bowler chose to deliver a 139.5 kmh paced stomach-high full toss to left-handed Jadeja. His intense response by swinging his blade across sent the ball deep into the roof of M Chinnaswamy stadium.
