The fake ticket scam during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Chennai Super Kings cost a fan INR 1.46 as the scam rises in India.

The in-field excitement for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 contest between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was at its best with raining of sixes in both innings as more than 450 runs were scored in 40 overs of the fixture.
The visitors leaked 92 runs in five overs of the first innings as Tim David clubbed Jamie Overton for a 30-run over before finding themselves 30/3. Despite that struggle, some vital knocks from Sarfaraz Khan, Prashant Veer, and Overton helped them in crossing the 200-run mark with the bat.

However, away from the craze, IPL comes with the demand for tickets as it soared among the fans. The desperation to get inside the stadium and enjoy the action for four overs in at least one of the games of massive rivalries remains at the top of the wish-list for many fans in this country.
When the tickets get sold out, the demand gets higher, and the fans even ask for the tickets in black. And one of the 25-year-old fans was dumped a massive price of INR 1.45 lakh for the fake ticket scam of the RCB vs CSK fixture.
The techie, a resident of B Narayanapura, fell into the trap by a post, which was put up by a fraudster who posed as a ticket seller on Instagram.

“He asked me to come near the stadium gate number 10, saying someone would deliver the tickets within minutes, and even sent an email confirmation to gain my trust. Initially, I agreed to buy two tickets for Rs 3,700 each.” The techie expressed.
“But he kept asking for more money under various pretexts such as refundable security deposits, additional ID cards, and food coupons. Trusting him, I made multiple payments - even using my mother’s bank account after exhausting my own limits—and ended up transferring around Rs 1.46 lakh.” He added.
