Starting the season with back-to-back defeats against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Titans defeated Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Kolkata Knight Riders in three straight games.

The five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians are in the 10th or last position in the same points table. Although MI started the new season with a historic win against Kolkata Knight Riders, breaking a 13-year straight record of losing season openers, MI then lost the next four games. In their last four matches, MI lost against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings.
