IPL 2026, Match 38 - LSG vs KKR: Toss Update and Playing XI

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday night in the 38th game of the IPL 2026. While Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium (Lucknow) is hosting this LSG vs KKR fixture, it will be the fourth match at this venue in the ongoing season. Meanwhile, both teams are playing their crucial eighth game of the season. 

The ninth-placed Lucknow Super Giants have four points after seven matches, with two wins and five losses. While they started the season with two wins in the first three games, LSG are starting this fixture with a four-match losing streak. 

In the meantime, the three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders are going through one of their weakest performances in a season. With only one win and one no result along with five defeats, KKR have three points in seven games. After a six-match winless streak this season, including a three-match losing streak, KKR finally claimed their first win of the season while beating Rajasthan Royals by four wickets. 

Both teams are struggling hugely at the moment. A victory is very important for both teams at the moment, as both teams are battling at the bottom of the points table.

Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. In the meantime, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane confirmed that he would choose to bat first.
