In the seventh game of the IPL 2026, the Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings (CSK vs PBKS) match has been scheduled. MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk, Chennai) is set to host this fixture on Friday night (April 3). While it is the first game at this venue in the IPL 2026, both teams are playing their second game of the season.
The five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings have a poor start in the new season, as they suffered a thumping eight-wicket defeat against the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals. While CSK were bundled out for only 127 runs, RR chased down that target in 12.1 overs after losing only two wickets.
Meanwhile, the two-time IPL runners-up, Punjab Kings, including the IPL 2025 runners-up, started the IPL 2026 with a thrilling victory against the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans. After restricting GT to 162/6, PBKS were once struggling at 118/6, from where they made a fightback to snatch a victory. The hosts PBKS chased down the target in 19.1 overs after losing seven wickets.
