The co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan, has showered praise on their premier spinner, Sunil Narine, for celebrating 200 wickets in the Indian Premier League.

Over the years, many different bowlers have made their way in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but consistently, only one bowler has topped the chart for his franchise in every phase of the game. And that’s Sunil Narine, who has featured for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from the very first edition of his career.

During IPL 2026, Sunil Narine has continued to gain the same bowling and has put himself in the league of his own. It’s still equally difficult to club the bowler, no matter when he bowls. Just in the previous encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, he shouldered the KKR side over the line in an incredible super over.

“Sunil, my friend… here’s to 15 seasons… over 200 wickets… 3 titles and many more with the @KKRiders franchise around the globe!!! You are a magician, and we love you like our own family. The wicket of Salil Arora made Narine only the third bowler in history to cross the 200-wicket mark, along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Overall, in his career, the off-spinner has 201 wickets at an average of 25.53 and an extraordinary economy rate of just 6.79 with a strike rate of 22.50. This is the best economy rate in the event’s history among those who have bowled at least 300 overs. There have been 82 innings in which Narine has gone under an economy rate of six.
