Mitchell Marsh powers Lucknow Super Giants to crucial win over RCB

Asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a strong start through Mitchell Marsh and Arshin Kulkarni. While Kulkarni played the supporting role with a steady 17-run knock, Marsh completely dominated the innings with a breathtaking 111 off just 56 deliveries. The Australian batter smashed nine fours and nine sixes, dismantling the RCB bowling attack with a perfect mix of power-hitting and smart shot selection.

Marsh also built crucial partnerships during the innings, adding 95 runs with Kulkarni for the opening wicket before stitching together another important 70-run stand with Nicholas Pooran, who contributed a quickfire 38 runs. Rain interruptions later revised Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s target to 213 runs in 19 overs under the DLS method. Despite the challenging conditions, RCB stayed in the contest for most of the chase, led by captain Rajat Patidar, who played an impressive knock of 61 off 31 balls. However, the Bengaluru side kept losing wickets at crucial stages, which prevented them from building sustained momentum.

LSG’s bowlers responded brilliantly under pressure, with Prince Yadav emerging as the standout performer after claiming 3/33. Shahbaz Ahmed also made an important contribution with figures of 2/33 during the middle overs. Krunal Pandya and Josh Hazlewood picked up one wicket each but proved slightly expensive.

RCB eventually finished at 203/6, falling short by nine runs under the DLS method. The victory not only ended LSG’s losing streak but also kept their playoff hopes alive as they look to revive their IPL 2026 campaign in the final phase of the tournament.
