IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad named Sri Lanka pacer as replacement for Brydon Carse
Sunrisers Hyderabad sign Dilshan Madushanka as replacement for injured Brydon Carse in IPL 2026, boosting their pace attack for the remainder of the season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have made a key squad change in IPL 2026, bringing in Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement for injured pacer Brydon Carse. The England fast bowler will not play again this season because he suffered a hand injury before the start of the tournament.
Carse had already missed the initial matches due to swelling in his bowling hand, and despite early hopes of a return, the franchise has now confirmed his unavailability. SRH have chosen to sign Madushanka who will join their team for INR 75 lakh to provide left-arm pace options for their bowling unit.
Injury setback forces SRH to make change
Brydon Carse was picked by SRH for INR 1 crore but failed to feature in IPL 2026 after he sustained a hand injury during training. Head coach Daniel Vettori had revealed that the pacer experienced ball grip difficulties because of his swollen condition which prevented him from playing in several matches.
The team management chose to replace him because they lacked an exact recovery estimate for his condition which allowed them to maintain their pace attack strength throughout the tournament.

Dilshan Madushanka brings international experience
Dilshan Madushanka has established his international credentials through his multiple appearances for Sri Lanka in all three cricket formats. The left-arm pacer has taken 70 international wickets while demonstrating his swing bowling skills in white-ball matches.
He has previous experience with the IPL through his time spent with the Mumbai Indians team. The inclusion of him in the team will enhance SRH's bowling strength because their bowlers have already performed well in the initial tournament matches.
SRH look to maintain momentum in IPL 2026
Sunrisers Hyderabad showed their potential for success when they won against Rajasthan Royals after facing difficulties at the start of their season. The team will work on establishing steady performance after key players showed their abilities and Madushanka joined the team as a new player.
Captain Pat Cummins will take a fitness test soon which brings positive news about his condition. His potential return could further boost SRH as they push for a strong position in the points table.
