IPL 2026: Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson share warm moment ahead of RCB vs LSG clash

The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), have emerged as one of the best teams in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Their weak point is definitely their bowling, but their strength lies in the batting, thanks to players like Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, captain Rajat Patidar, Tim David, and others. They have gained a brilliant momentum in this season by winning three out of four matches. 

On the other hand, we have Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are yet to make a mark in the tournament. They have won two out of four matches in the tournament, but they, too, have a balanced team. The players haven't performed up to their potential, which is the reason behind their defeat, especially the batters. They are currently in the seventh position in the points table.

RCB's star batter Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson were seen having a light-hearted moment ahead of the RCB vs LSG clash tomorrow. Both are two of the best players in the world across formats, and they also played in the U-19 World Cup together for India and New Zealand, respectively. Hence, their camaraderie goes a long way. They were seen having a long chat, along with Rishabh Pant present with them. 

Williamson has joined LSG as a Strategic Advisor for IPL 2026, transitioning into a support staff role rather than playing. He did not enter the 2026 player auction and is not part of the playing squad, acting instead as a mentor to guide the team's strategy. 

RCB set to face LSG in crucial IPL 2026 encounter

RCB are set to play against LSG on April 15 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The fans are expecting a thrilling contest because of the players present on both teams. The pitch is likely to be in favour of the batters, which will make the game even more intriguing. Hence, a high-scoring match is expected. 

If we look at the toss, the captain will most likely choose to field first, as every other team has done in this tournament. RCB have been successful in scoring runs even in the first innings, which might be a bit concerning for the opponent team.
