IPL 2026: Who said what after GT vs KKR match 25
Gujarat Titans beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets in IPL 2026 as Shubman Gill starred with 86 to lead a successful chase of 181.

Gujarat Titans won by five wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders in match 24 of IPL 2026 in Ahmedabad. Chasing 181, GT reached 181/5 in 19.4 overs. Captain Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings of 86 off 50 balls, hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes. After his wicket in the 17th over, the match became close, and Glenn Phillips also got out early in the last over. But Rahul Tewatia (7*) and Shahrukh Khan (3*) stayed calm and finished the game for GT.
Earlier, KKR posted a 180-run target in 20 overs for the loss of all their 10 wickets. Cameron Green was the highest run-getter with 79 runs off 55 balls, but he failed to get much support from the other batters. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals and prevented KKR from posting a bigger total. With one wicket left in the final over, Green made a blunder in that he took a single but was run out on the last ball.
For Gujarat Titans, Kagiso Rabada bowled very well and took 3 wickets. Mohammed Siraj also made an impact by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane for a duck and Sunil Narine early. Rashid Khan picked up an important wicket as well. Overall, GT confidently chased the target to win comfortably at home.
GT vs KKR: Who said what after the match
Ajinkya Rahane (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain):
"Yeah, as you said. It's never easy after losing a game and then come here to talk about the game. I just want to talk about the positive things that we did tonight especially the way we started after being 2-3 wickets down. Cameron's Green innings tonight was outstanding under pressure. He played an amazing counter-attacking innings by taking on their bowlers which was amazing to see. From being at 147/4 to end up with 180 was slightly difficult from our batters but credit to our bowlers as they managed to take the game to the last over. Everyone contributed well. I thought he (Gill) batted really well. I thought the ball was slightly holding on the surface when we were bowling back of a length deliveries. Half volleys were coming onto the bat nicely. No excuses as I said. With 180, we needed wickets in the powerplay. I just want to talk about the positives. It's never easy when things are not going your way, coming each and every game and turning up. Cameron Green's innings was amazing to see. (Why didn't Cameron Green bowl today?) He was actually struggling with his cramps, that's the reason he didn't bowl. He was in and out of the field during the 2nd Innings. I think it's all about being in the moment. When things are not going your way, you have to be in the moment. I want the boys to just try and go out there, enjoy the game, back yourselves as a unit and then control the things which you can control. We wanted to be aggressive today, be positive from ball number one."

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans Captain & Player of the Match):
"Honestly, I don't think it matters and the only thing that matters is the team winning. Winning the cup in the Finals is what I am looking forward to. Yeah, I mean ideally I would've loved to finish off the game at least an over or maybe couple of overs before. I was quite disappointed with the way I got out. I wanted to be there till the end and finish it. Hopefully, the next chance I get, I will look to do that. Honestly, the way both of them (Siraj and Rabada) were bowling was like they could get a wicket off every ball and giving them one extra over worked for us. I could see the ball was nipping a bit. I asked both of them whether they are okay to bowl an extra over as it was very hot out there and never easy to bowl three overs on the trot. Yeah, I thing they took the game away from us a little bit in the middle overs. I think it was important to still look for wickets as they have a long batting line-up. Sunil came at Number 9 or something. So, we knew that they were going to swing at every ball. So, having that mindset of looking for wickets and being in that attacking mindset was really important for us. Well, fitness was something I have worked really hard couple of months before this tournament began. Apart from that, I was working on the mental aspect of the game and trying to get better not just technically but tactically as well. It is about staying in the present and not think too far ahead. You don't want to dwell on the past. Your mind takes you to all sorts of places but it is important to stay in the present."
