On Friday night (April 17), Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 25th game of the IPL 2026. During the first innings of the match, KKR batter Cameron Green hit hard that hit the model car over the boundary.
The three-time IPL champions KKR have a poor start in the IPL 2026, as they haven't won a single match in their first five matches of the season. Recording four losses and one no result, the last-placed team faced the hosts Gujarat Titans. Without any doubt, KKR must win these matches to find confidence.
After KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane chose to bat first, Cameron Green played an important role in the innings. During the 13th over, Green punished the GT pacer Ashok Sharma with a six, while the ball hit the model car. After a wide delivery, which Green snatched after a review, he smashed another six on the very next ball.
KKR batters struggled to provide good start against GT
Struggling KKR had another poor start in their innings. While the skipper Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for a golden duck, the no.3 batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed for eight runs. Meanwhile, another opener Tim Seifert, who replaced Finn Allen for the game, scored 19 runs before losing his wicket. At the end of the powerplay, KKR were struggling at 37 for 3.
Cameron Green's batting rescued KKR to manage challenging total
While KKR were losing wickets at regular intervals, Australian cricketer Cameron Green played a very crucial role in setting a challenging total of 180 runs. With the help of seven fours and four sixes, Green scored 79 off 55 balls. Only Rovman Powell (27) was the other batter to score 20+ runs in that innings, as KKR were all out for 180 in 20 overs.
