Watch: Rovman Powell perfectly replied to Prasidh Krishna's aggression during GT vs KKR clash in IPL 2026
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter, Rovman Powell, has replied to Prasidh Krishna's aggression by hitting a huge six during the GT vs KKR clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) didn’t make a healthy start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign as they faced four defeats in five encounters coming into the clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They lost three wickets inside the power play as their familiar struggle started.
Cameron Green and Rovman Powell met each other in the sixth over of the first innings and started to recover themselves with a strong partnership for the fourth wicket. The former got dismissed on the last delivery of the innings for 79 runs off 55 balls with the help of seven boundaries and four sixes.

It was the seventh over of the innings when Prasidh Krishna came into the attack for the first time in the evening. On the third delivery, Powell survived a leg before the stumps dismissal. It was a length delivery around the leg stump as the ball nipped back slightly to hit the right-handed batter on the pads. The impact was pretty high on the stumps.
On the very next delivery, the former West Indies captain smashed the ball back to the bowler, who was about to hit the ball back to the batter. It didn’t perhaps make the Caribbean star happy.

The fifth delivery of the over was on the length around the middle and leg stump. It nipped back as Powell lofted it cleanly over the long-on region. It went miles in the air and cleared the boundary rope for a massive 84-meter six.
Ashok Sharma was introduced in the eighth over by captain Shubman Gill. The fourth ball, which was at 147 kph, was deposited into the stands by Powell for a six. It was a short ball as the batter got into a good position and pummeled the pull over the deep mid-wicket for a towering six. He backed it up with another boundary through the backward point region.

However, it didn’t last long as he was dismissed for 27 runs off 20 balls with the help of two boundaries and as many sixes at a strike rate of 135.
GT make strong start in 181-run chase against KKR
For Kolkata, the only ray of hope for the entire innings was Green’s 79 runs off 55 balls. Apart from that, they had no one to stand in the death overs. The three-time champions were 147/4 before losing the last six wickets for just 33 runs in 31 balls. As a result, they got bundled out for 180 runs in 20 overs.
Meanwhile, Gujarat made a clinical start in the chase, putting 40 runs without any damage in just three overs. Captain Gill took the centre stage for his 23 runs off just 10 balls with three boundaries and one six. That wasn’t a positive start in the defense for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side.
Brief Scores (at the time of writing): GT 71/1 (Shubman Gill 34*, Sunil Narine 1/19) vs KKR 180 (Cameron Green 79, Kagiso Rabada 3/29, Mohammed Siraj 2/23)
