Punjab Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in Match 29 of IPL 2026 in Mullanpur. Batting first, PBKS posted a massive score of 254 for seven wickets in 20 overs. Priyansh Arya made an amazing knock of 93 in just 37 balls, while Cooper Connolly made 87. They formed a solid stand and hit the opposition bowlers hard, particularly in the middle overs. Marcus Stoinis (29) and Shashank Singh (17) added quick runs at the end to take the total past 250.

Chasing 255, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a good start but were unable to keep up with the high target. Mitchell Marsh hit 40 from 28 deliveries while Ayush Badoni slashed 35 from 21. Rishabh Pant played a good innings of 43 but wickets kept falling at the other end.  Nicholas Pooran once again struggled and was dismissed for 9, which hurt the chase.

Punjab bowlers kept things under control despite the big total. Marco Jansen took 2 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yuzvendra Chahal picked one wicket each. Aiden Markram had made 42 and Mukul Choudhary was not out on 21, but the target was massive. In the end, PBKS won the match comfortably by 54 runs.

PBKS vs LSG: Who said what after the match

Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants Captain):

"The left hand is getting better. I got a new tattoo today (showing his new injury) so something to look forward for me again. [on where it went wrong] It is difficult to put out one area because bowlers are putting up ua nice show. There are areas of concerns. There were some positives for us also to work around. There was some glimpse of batting what we talked about. As a team we gotta do well each and every match. I think the idea was to just go out and play freely. It was pre decided that he was going to open. Wanted some freedom on the top order and the middle order wanted to chip in. We believe in this team but at the same time when the opposition is playing so well, like Punjab is playing now, you gotta give credit to them for playing good hard cricket also."

Shreyas Iyer (Punjab Kings Captain):

"(On that partnership between Arya and Connolly) Well, it was exceptional to see. Some of the shots I saw from them were just jaw dropping honestly speaking. Hitting fast bowlers off the back foot straight down the ground needs a lot of courage. Things can slip a bit but the way they built that partnership, especially in the middle overs was just sensational. I was just talking with Cooper and Priyansh about that. I told them, let us compete in this IPL who hits most sixes and they are up for it. The prize is going to be my bat. So, it doesn't make sense. So, at the end of the day, if they keep performing and the team keeps performing, I am happy. I personally feel that, when you just let them be and allow them to go out there and express themselves, that's when they do well. There is no such mantra for us. I think they have got their patterns set and every individual in the team follow their routines and they keep delivering. So, I don't have to tell much. We talk before the game. Ricky chips in a few words, I add a few too. The boys come and they delivery in the middle.  I think majority of our bowlers in the team are international level. They have done fantastic jobs for their respective teams internationally. They have got immense experience. We discuss things before the game. We make certain plans before each game and it's all about executing. They have been bowling brilliantly throughout the season."

Priyansh Arya (Player of the Match):

"Tonight, you know, I continued batting more overs after the powerplay and got runs, contributing to the team. That gave me a lot of satisfaction. See, I don't practice six-hitting. I just try to time the ball as well as possible in the practice session. That is more profitable for me when I come out to bat. Yes, I have worked a bit on my fitness. Anand sir and Birla sir have been working hard in our training for the last 4-5 months. Whatever schedule they prepare and send me, I am following it. It has benefited me a lot. [On his partnership with Cooper Connolly and not speaking much with each other] I personally think the more we talk while batting with each other, the more thoughts you would get into the mind. [On his favourite shot tonight] The one I slashed over point for six runs."
