The 26-year-old Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is doubtful for the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024/25.
Ishan Kishan has been named for the India D team, where Shreyas Iyer is set to lead the team. They will face Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India C in the Duleep Trophy 2024/25 first round in Anantapur, starting on September 5.
However, the latest news reports are claiming that Ishan Kishan may miss the Duleep Trophy 2024/25 first round. His possible withdrawal reason is unclear; however, the Cricbuzz has reported a possible injury.

Ishan Kishan recently participated in the Buchi Babu tournament
In the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai, Kishan played two matches for Jharkhand, where his team faced Madhya Pradesh and Hyderabad. After scoring 141 and 41 not out in the first game, the left-handed batter scored one and five runs in the next fixture.
Kishan has played two Tests, 27 ODIs, and 32 T20Is for India. During India's tour of the West Indies in 2023, Kishan made his Test debut and played two Tests, where the left-handed batter scored one unbeaten half-century (52 not out).
Despite the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) instructions, Kishan skipped a few Ranji Trophy matches last season. He was informed that his national selection would be only considered after his performances for the state team.
Sanju Samson can join the India D team
While Sanju Samson wasn’t selected in any of the four teams for the Duleep Trophy 2024/25 first round, he can replace Kishan for India D.
India C star Suryakumar Yadav has recently been ruled out from the Duleep Trophy 2024/25 first round due to a hand injury. He was also participating in the Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai, where he received an injury.
Earlier, Navdeep Saini replaced India B’s injured Mohammed Siraj and Gaurav Yadav replaced India C’s injured Umran Malik.
On the other hand, India B star Ravindra Jadeja’s withdrawal has been clarified by the BCCI.
