Ishan Kishan gifts 6 pairs of Adidas cricket shoes to SRH's Sakib Hussain in a heartwarming IPL 2026 gesture

Sunrisers Hyderabad Ishan Kishan won hearts during IPL 2026 after helping his teammate Sakib Hussain in a special way. The young SRH pacer recently revealed that Kishan gifted him multiple pairs of expensive cricket spike shoes during the season after learning about his struggles.

Sakib Hussain, who made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, impressed everyone with his performances and picked up 15 wickets in 11 matches. However, his journey to IPL cricket was not easy because he earlier could not afford proper cricket shoes.

The young fast bowler revealed that he used to wear roadside shoes costing only ₹200-300, which would tear quickly and often cause ankle injuries while bowling. His emotional story and Ishan Kishan’s kind gesture have now gone viral on social media.

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Sakib Hussain spoke about his difficult cricket journey and how Ishan Kishan helped him during IPL 2026.

Sakib said, “There was a time I did not have any shoes. I couldn't even think about owning a pair of shoes that expensive. How could I wear shoes that cost Rs 12,000-15,000? The shoes bought off the roadside for Rs 200-300 wore out soon. The sole would tear. Without spikes, my foot kept slipping and my ankles got sprained many times.”

After hearing about his struggles, Ishan Kishan immediately decided to help his teammate. Sakib revealed that Kishan gifted him six pairs of Adidas spike shoes, each costing around ₹12,000-15,000.

Sakib added, “I have 6 pair of spikes, currently. Ishan Bhaiya got them for me. Ishan told me he will get spikes for me and I told him Adipower from Adidas. So full season, I have been playing with the spikes he only got me.”

Interestingly, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter also comes from Bihar and understands financial struggles from his early cricket days. Fans praised Kishan for helping a young teammate during such an important season.

Apart from helping Sakib Hussain, Ishan Kishan also enjoyed his best IPL season with the bat. The SRH batter scored 602 runs in 15 matches and crossed the 600-run mark in a single IPL season for the first time in his career.

Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to reach the IPL 2026 playoffs but their run ended with the Eliminator as they lost to Rajasthan Royals. RR batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a stunning innings of 97 runs off just 29 balls, while Dhruv Jurel also scored an important half-century to help Rajasthan post 243 runs.

In reply, SRH struggled under pressure despite decent starts from Travis Head and Ishan Kishan. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy tried to fight back, but Jofra Archer’s brilliant bowling helped Rajasthan Royals bowl out SRH for 196 runs and seal a 47-run victory. With the win, Rajasthan Royals advanced to Qualifier 2 where they will now face Gujarat Titans for a place in the IPL 2026 final.
