While SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are playing a crucial home IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), the hosts are piling up a big first innings total after a strong batting performance. During the first innings, SRH stand-in captain Ishan Kishan slammed a six to DC left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.

After Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss, he sent the hosts to bat first. It is an important fixture for both teams, as two crucial points will strengthen their base in the competition, which is in the middle stage. 

In the first innings, SRH stand-in skipper Ishan Kishan hit one six, which was to his national team partner Kuldeep Yadav. It was the first ball of the 11th over, where Ishan came down the pitch and slammed for a six over long on.

SRH openers provide strong start

SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head provided a strong start for the hosts. After scoring 67/0 at the end of the powerplay, Head and Abhishek set up a 97-run partnership for the first wicket in just 8.5 overs. While Head was dismissed for 37 off 26 balls with two fours and two sixes, Abhishek continued his powerful innings to create history.

Stand-in captain Ishan Kishan plays furious cameo

Abhishek and stand-in captain Ishan Kishan had a 79-run second-wicket partnership in less than six overs. Ishan played a cameo knock of 25 off just 13 balls, where the left-handed batter hit two fours and one six. Although it was a short knock, it was enough for the team to set up a big total.

Meanwhile, after scoring 50 runs in 25 balls, Abhishek slammed a century in 47 balls. With the help of 10 fours and 10 sixes, he scored 135 not out off 68 balls. Also, Heinrich Klaasen scored 37 not out off 13 balls (three fours and three sixes), as SRH scored 242/2 in 20 overs. They had a 66-run partnership for the unbroken third wicket.
