Watch: Josh Hazlewood furious after bizarre Taskin Ahmed collision costs him a simple catch vs Bangladesh
Josh Hazlewood was left fuming after a bizarre mid-pitch collision with Taskin Ahmed cost him a simple return catch, as Bangladesh collapsed to 64 all out in the second Test against Australia

Players getting dismissed for obstructing the field has become quite normal in the game these days, and Australia hoped for the same when they appealed on Taskin Ahmed colliding with Josh Hazlewood during the opening day of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
Bangladesh came into this clash with full confidence on the back of their opening Test victory in Darwin as they expected to end the series with a 2-0 margin. Meanwhile, the hosts anticipated bouncing back hard and draw the series result.
Hazlewood left fuming as Taskin's running path caused a collision, denying him a simple return catch
On the third delivery of the 28th over of the innings, a massive controversy occurred in the game. It was a short delivery from Josh Hazlewood to Taskin Ahmed, who went for the pull and top-edged it high in the air. The pacer went for the catch, but Taskin came in the way and denied him the chance to take the catch.

Hazlewood looked at the square leg umpire immediately and wasn’t happy at all. The obstruction was purely accidental, as there was no case of Taskin stopping the bowler from taking the catch wilfully. The law clearly stated the same.
There was a clever attempt from the hosts to send back the batter on the law, as the captain Pat Cummins had a few words with the umpire, Nitin Menon, who underlined the situation and gave him full clarity on this.
The incident comes as Bangladesh collapsed to 39-9 before being bowled out for a humiliating 64
Bangladesh were bundled out for just 64 runs in their first innings in 34 overs after they decided to put the tourists in, having won the toss. It’s hard to believe, but the last wicket partnership was their best of the entire batting, with Shoriful Islam, the number 11, being the highest run-getter of the department with 14 runs.
Mitchell Starc went through the Bangladesh batting and returned with figures of 6/12 in 10 overs, while Cummins returned with 3/25 in 10 overs, including four maidens.

Australia didn’t bat well at all. Shoriful Islam’s six-wicket haul reduced the hosts to 155/8 as they lost their last four wickets for just three runs in three overs. Cameron Green was their only arranged batter with 45 runs.
Brief Scores: Australia 165/8 (Cameron Green 51*, Shoriful Islam 6/35) lead Bangladesh 64 (Shoriful Islam 14, Mitchell Starc 6/12) by 101 runs on Day 1
