India women's team are currently playing a day-night Test match in Perth of India Women’s tour to Australia. The match is an important game for India women. Both India and Australia women's team are trying to play good cricket and take control of the match.

In the game, the Indian bowler Kranti Gaud bowled well and dismissed Australian batter Ashleigh Gardner for just one run. The wicket was a big moment for India women and helped them put pressure on Australia women.

She set Gardner up by bowling most deliveries seaming away from her, but this one shaped in to catch the right-hander off guard. On a length outside off, the ball seamed in nicely. The Australian batter tried to flick it across but left a bat-pad gap and played down the wrong line. She got a slight inside edge onto her pads, and the ball then deflected onto the stumps.

Ellyse Perry becomes Australia Women’s highest run-scorer

Earlier in the game, legendary Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry became the highest run-scorer for Australia women in Test cricket during the second day of the ongoing one-off Test against India women at the WACA Ground, Perth on Saturday. Perry also became only the second Australian woman to surpass 1,000 runs in Test cricket, achieving the milestone during her 76-run innings in the first innings.

She reached the 1,000-run mark with a single off the last delivery of the 43rd over, running off Sneh Rana’s bowling near mid-wicket. Perry then surpassed Karen Rolton, the previous record-holder with 1,002 runs, by hitting a boundary over mid-on off Deepti Sharma’s bowling to become the top scorer in Australia women’s Test history.

In her farewell international match, skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and elected to bowl first under scorching conditions. The decision paid off immediately as Annabel Sutherland swung and seamed brilliantly, taking 4-46, while Lucy Hamilton’s accuracy and movement earned her 3-31, helping to bowl India women out for 198 in 62.4 overs. Debutant pacer Sayali Satghare removed Georgia Voll for two with a sharp inswinger, and Kranti Gaud dismissed Phoebe Litchfield for nine, caught sharply by Jemimah Rodrigues at backward point.

Australia women then responded strongly in their first innings. At 58/3, India women had them under pressure, but Perry and Sutherland steadied the innings with confident strokeplay. Sutherland scored a fine century while Perry contributed 76 before being dismissed by Deepti Sharma. By tea on the second day, Australia women were 217/4. They continued their dominance in the second session, eventually taking a lead past the 100-run mark over India women.

Brief scores:

  • India Women 1st Innings: 198/10 (62.4 overs)
  • Australia Women 1st Innings: 323/10 (90.4 overs)
  • India Women 2nd Innings: 105/6 (28.5 overs)
