Shreyas Iyer has been a star performer in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Along with the captaincy, he has handled his batting really well, which is commendable. In today's game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the PBKS captain was dismissed cheaply by Mohsin Khan in New Chandigarh. The crowd was stunned by the dismissal as they didn't expect Iyer to get out early.
However, the game is well within PBKS' reach as Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly formed a partnership of 182 off 80 deliveries. With their brilliant batting performance, the home team ended up putting up 254 runs on the board. It was one of the best batting displays by the PBKS batters, and Iyer will surely be proud of his team.

LSG bowler Mohsin Khan bowled a slower one outside off stump, and Shreyas Iyer went on to hit the ball. He goes for the lofted drive but ends up getting an outside edge as the ball flew towards the fielder at the short third man. Mohammad Shami made no mistake in taking the catch. He kept his eyes on the ball throughout and completed a clean catch, dismissing the skipper. Iyer was dismissed on 5 off 8 balls.
The visitors tried their hard to pull back the innings by taking a couple of wickets in the middle over, but PBKS batters were in no mood to let the batting pitch slide. The bashing continued despite losing frequent wickets. Marcus Stoinis also played a cameo of 29 runs in 16 balls, including two boundaries and sixes. Both Arya and Connolly missed out on their well-deserved century.
