In Match 23 of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season, the Texas Super Kings gave a power-packed performance to trounce the Washington Freedom by 43 runs at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill. Rain dominated the game as the match was reduced to 5 overs per side. Texas, who were put into bat, showed their intent early, with Shubham Ranjane and Donovan Ferreira putting on an explosive display. Ranjane struck 39 off 14 balls, while Ferreira hammered 37 off just 9, guiding Texas to a daunting total of 87/2.
In reply, Washington Freedom struggled to get any momentum during their chase. Glenn Phillips tried to stabilize the innings with an 18 off 11 cameo, but the pressure of the scoreboard was big. Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Owen were unable to make their starts pay, and Texas bowlers, headed by Nandre Burger (2/12), kept tight lines. Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein also bowled economically, picking up one wicket each, as Washington stumbled to 44/4 in their 5 overs. With this dominant win, Texas Super Kings moved up to second place on the points table with 12 points, overtaking Washington Freedom on Net Run Rate.
