India's dominating 336-run victory over England at Edgbaston not only drew the five-match series level at 1-1 but also carved out a special niche in Mohammed Siraj's heart. The fast bowler, whose career best was a key to India's historic first-ever Test triumph at the ground, said the match was the third-best Test of his life, after two unforgettable affairs in 2021.

Talking in a video uploaded by the BCCI, Siraj stated, "This is the third-best match of my life. First was Gabba (2021), second was Lord's (2021), and now this. I can't tell you the feeling."

Siraj played a crucial role in the first innings of Edgbaston, taking six wickets, one of which was the key scalp of Zak Crawley in the second. But it was the combined excellence of the Indian bowling department that shone through. On debut, Akash Deep took 10 wickets from the match and helped England never get going after initial shocks. Siraj disclosed how he continued to mentor the young pacer throughout the match, frequently urging him from mid-off to work on consistent zones instead of hunting for wickets.

Shubman Gill's 430-run stand across both innings was the other major highlight, with the captain leading by example in what Siraj described as a "special and historic win". Siraj's number one selections the Gabba and Lord's Tests of 2021 are already legendary. The Gabba saw India stage one of the greatest Test victories ever, chasing down 328 on the last day to break Australia's 32-year winning streak at the ground. At Lord's, Siraj himself shone with eight wickets as India scripted a thrilling comeback to beat England by 151 runs.

Though Edgbaston did not share the same thrilling conclusion, the scale of the victory and the series context are enough to give it a place in Siraj's top three. It was a match that was all about camaraderie, milestones, and the feeling of Indian dominance overseas, and for Siraj, that is more than enough to render it unforgettable.
