When clean hitters like Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran are in the mood, opponent team bowlers start to see nightmares with wide open eyes. This exact thing happened when Gujarat Titans (GT) stepped into Narendra Modi Stadium to lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

GT started the match as the clear favorite to win, as they had already qualified for the play-offs, and on the other hand, LSG, despite a good team on pen and paper knocked out of the tournament. LSG perhaps has shown their best batting performance of the season by scoring 235 runs in the first innings by losing only a couple of wickets.

Marsh, with his hammering hundred, already set the tone for his team; the remaining finishing works were led by the West Indian swashbuckler Nicholas Pooran. While Marsh scored 117 with a 182.81 strike rate, Pooran batted with a more intense approach with a strike rate of 207.41.

Siraj got his own medicine

The middle-order batter scored an unbeaten 56 off 27, powered by four 4s and five 6s. Matter looked more serious when Mohammed Siraj dared to throw a few words towards Pooran after an accurate bouncer that Pooran did not manage to connect with his blade. Siraj got some boost after his delivery in the 16th over of the first innings.

The batter chose to remain silent, replied Siraj in the next couple of deliveries. Pooran first replied to Siraj with a mammoth six. This time the GT pacer chose to go full, middle of the length, and the southpaw swung his bat across to guide the ball over the deep square leg region for maximum.
