Pratika Rawal Receives Special Reward From Delhi Govt, DDCA After Women’s World Cup Victory
Despite being the fourth-highest run-scorer with 308 runs in seven matches at an average of 51.33, Rawal did not receive a winner’s medal at first. She joined the team’s celebrations in a wheelchair. Later, the ICC made a special exception and awarded her a 16th winner’s medal.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a reward of ₹1.5 crore for Indian opening batter Pratika Rawal for her key role in the team’s historic win at the 2025 Women’s World Cup. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) also confirmed an additional ₹50 lakh cash prize for her.
The Delhi CM felicitated Rawal on Sunday in the presence of her father, Pradeep, a BCCI-certified umpire, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, and DDCA President Rohan Jaitley.
Rawal was not part of the final 15-member squad that officially won the World Cup after India defeated South Africa in the final at the DY Patil Stadium. She was ruled out of the tournament due to an ankle injury she suffered during a rain-hit group match against Sri Lanka.

Pratika Rawal’s Cricket Journey
Rawal’s cricket journey began in Delhi, where she used to follow her father to the matches he officiated as an umpire. One day, she saw a coaching drill at an academy and asked her father, Pradeep, to let her join. She later became the first girl student at that academy.
She went on to represent Delhi in age-group and senior domestic cricket before moving to Railways ahead of last season.
