Rawalpindiz have become the first team to be eliminated from PSL 2026, marking a disappointing end to their debut campaign in Pakistan’s premier T20 league. The new franchise lost all six of their matches during the tough season which resulted in them not earning any points for the table.

The team lost their last game which confirmed their playoff elimination because the defeat ended their mathematical chances of qualifying. Rawalpindiz started the tournament with high expectations because they had a strong team but they failed to maintain their performance throughout the whole season.

Early exit confirmed after disappointing campaign

The franchise’s campaign failed to gain momentum because Rawalpindiz experienced six straight losses. Their latest defeat sealed their fate, leaving them rooted at the bottom of the points table with a poor net run rate.

The team showed potential in multiple matches but failed to win any of those games. Their winless streak developed because they could not bat effectively against various situations and their players failed to form partnerships.

Reasons behind Rawalpindiz’s early elimination in PSL 2026

The team's major downfall happened when their captain Mohammad Rizwan lost his ability to perform well during matches. The team suffered because he was an important player whose performance difficulties made it harder for them to win matches. The team suffered major damage from injuries which affected their ability to perform because star pacer Naseem Shah could not play in the game.

The team showed no equilibrium because they lacked proper functioning in both bowling and batting sections of their work. The bowlers failed to control runs or take wickets at crucial moments, while the batting unit struggled to build momentum. The first season of Rawalpindi ended with disappointment because it showed the difficulties that new teams encounter when they participate in the competitive PSL tournament.
