The Quetta Gladiators have officially lost their chance to compete in the Pakistan Super League 2026 playoffs after their second defeat to Lahore Qalandars by 9 runs on April 21. The tournament results show that Quetta has become the second team to face elimination after Rawalpindiz which ended their chances for a top four finish this season.
The Quetta team showed strong determination during their chase of 198 runs but their performance ended when they scored 188 runs with 7 wickets down after 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw (62) and Shamyl Hussain (53) kept the chase alive, but they couldn’t cross the line. Fakhar Zaman delivered a match-winning performance by scoring 103 runs off 51 balls which helped Lahore Qalandars reach a competitive score.
Quetta Gladiators’ PSL 2026 campaign ends in disappointment
Quetta displayed erratic performance patterns which persisted throughout their entire competition schedule. The team finished the season with three victories and six defeats because they could not achieve enough points to advance into the playoff round.

The team suffered through both major defeats and the failure to win crucial matches which blocked their progress. The team reached its elimination point because they lost their chance to enter the top four despite having one match left to play. The Gladiators will now play their final game of the season against Karachi Kings on April 25, which will have no impact on their qualification hopes.
The playoff competition remains active as Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United compete for available spots in the upcoming postseason while the league progresses toward its concluding stages.
