A shocking and hilarious incident took place during the Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 between Band-E-Amir Dragons and Mis Ainak Knights, which took place in Khost, where a fan broke through the security of the ground and snatched the cap of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, as the video went viral on social media platforms.
Gurbaz has been a fan favorite in Afghanistan, as he recently celebrated a thrilling knock of 102 runs off just 51 balls at a strike rate of 200, with the help of eight boundaries and as many sixes, against India during the first ODI of the three-match series in Dharamshala.

According to the viral video at the venue, a cricket fan entered a restricted area and confronted Gurbaz during the encounter as the situation escalated quickly, and the fan allegedly slapped the Afghanistan batter before security personnel intervened and brought the incident under full control.

In the footage, the intruder can be seen breaching security, approaching Gurbaz on the field, and snatching his cap before attempting to flee the scene.

Band-E-Amir Dragons batted first and were bundled out for 114 runs in 19.3 overs. Their captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, slammed 16 runs off 18 balls with the help of just one boundary. Azizullah Miakhil clubbed 30 runs off 25 balls at a strike rate of 120. Mujeeb Ur Rahman ended up with figures of 3/22, and Ziaur Rahman had 3/12 in 2.3 overs.

In reply, the Knights completed the chase by eight wickets in just 9.4 overs. It was based on the 102-run second wicket stand between Gurbaz and Khalid Taniwal. The former smashed 52 runs off 30 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes, while Taniwal drilled 53 runs off 22 balls, shouldering on seven boundaries and three sixes.
Knights boosted their net run rate with the eight-wicket win and 62 balls to spare.
