Ayush Mhatre recently won the U19 World Cup 2026 for the Indian side as they blew away England in the final at the Harare Sports Club. The 18-year-old has smashed an overall 458 runs in seven innings of the List A cricket at an average of 65.42 and a strike rate of 135.50, thanks to one century and two half-centuries at the best score of 181 runs, as he continues to grow.

Ayush Mhatre, who featured for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), ended up with 240 runs in just seven innings at an average of 34.28 and a strike rate of 188.97 with the help of one half-century and several vital knocks at the best score of 94 runs against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Mhatre, who is expected to open the batting with Sanju Samson in the 2026 season of the competition, went through a rapid fire with the franchise as his Mumbai and CSK teammate, Sarfaraz Khan, pulled his leg in between during the fun session, as the video went viral around the social media platforms.

The former CSK player, Anirudha Srikkanth, asked Mahtre to reveal whether he would choose early morning or late night, to which Mahtre selected early morning before Sarfaraz whistled that the opening batter had been lying. On the second question, Mhatre was asked to pick up a special shot from any batter across different eras.

Sarfaraz Khan again made his presence felt and claimed that Mhatre should look to go with the sweep shot that the 18-year-old lacks in the middle. Meanwhile, the opening batter disclosed his wish to visit darshans and various temples as his holiday destinations.

The fourth question of Mhatre was to pick the bowler from the past he would love to face. To answer this question. Mhatre decided to pick Jasprit Bumrah as Srikkanth reckoned that the IPL 2026 would be electrifying. On the last question, the opening batter picked Rohit Sharma as his favorite partner to bat with.
