The London derby between MI London and London Spirits during The Hundred 2026 at the Kennington Oval saw a few heated words being exchanged between Liam Livingstone and Rashid Khan when the hosts were trying their best to defend their score of 164 runs.

Rashid, unlike the other T20 leagues around the world, hasn’t earned significant success with the ball in the 100-ball competition. In 2026, he has picked up only two wickets in four innings at an average of 52.

Rashid Khan came into the attack during the defence after 50 deliveries. On his first five deliveries, the Afghanistan spinner gave away only three runs. However, Livingstone smashed the 56th delivery of the innings hard through the extra cover for a boundary.

On the very next delivery, Livingstone knocked the delivery down to long-on for a single. Rashid, on his follow-through, came before Livingstone, who was trying to come into the non-striker’s end. He was about to clash with the spinner. The batter wasn’t happy with it, while Rashid seemed to be telling him that it was the angle of his follow-through.

On the next delivery, the leg-spinner beat James Rew’s sweep as the England batter failed to read the googly. The spinner now walked up to the batter and sledged him on his face, only to get pumped for a boundary on the following delivery.

London Spirit complete comeback win over MI London despite the tension

MI London posted a decent score of 164 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 100 balls. Will Jacks, while opening the batting, clubbed a dashing knock of 65 runs off 44 balls at a strike rate of 147.73, thanks to eight boundaries and a couple of sixes. Meanwhile, Sherfane Rutherford clubbed 41 runs off 19 balls, shouldering on two boundaries and four sixes.

London Spirit, however, completed the chase by seven wickets with 11 balls to spare. Their opener, Lhuan-dre Pretorious, smacked a superb knock of 64 runs off 28 balls at a strike rate of 228.57, thanks to three boundaries and seven sixes. The other batters also chipped in with small knocks.
