During the second round of the tri-series 2026 clash between England and Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Razaullah’s superb throw from the boundary line runs out the England captain, Harry Brook. It was a massive wicket for the hosts given that he smashed the fastest ODI double century in the previous clash against Sri Lanka.

The home captain, Shaheen Afridi, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface which is expected to get better in the second innings with the presence of dew. They made England struggle with the bat in the first innings.

On the last ball of the fifth over of the innings, Afridi went for an in-swinging delivery to Brook, who squeezed it off the inside edge through the backward of the square region and wanted for the second run straightaway. He didn’t even think of the other option.

Razaullah was standing at the boundary rope and swooped down from the fine leg region. He picked up the ball cleanly and sent it in a bullet throw to the striker’s end, where Saad Baig collected the ball and took the bails off, with Brook falling well short of the crease.

The third umpire checked whether the ball was inside the gloves of the wicket-keeper. Several replays from the different angles of the camera confirmed that the bat of Brook was well short of the crease and was dismissed for just one run off the seven balls.

How England struggled with the bat against Pakistan’s bowlers

England were under immense pressure inside the first five overs of the innings. Tom Banton, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Jordan Cox were dismissed for single-figure scores. They were reduced to 52/4 in the tenth over of the innings as Afridi finished the opening spell with 2/31 in his six overs.

However, since the last wicket, both Sam Curran and Ben Duckett stabled them with the 93-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The former was dismissed for 42 runs off 52 balls at a strike rate of 81, with the help of five boundaries. Pakistan were always on the top of the game.
