Heading into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 encounter between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sawai Mansingh Singh Stadium in Jaipur, the pressure was incredible on the captain, Riyan Parag, who hasn’t scored much in this campaign and has already been fined for the viral vaping video.

But the most elegant shot of the evening came on the third delivery of Parag’s bat. He made room into the leg side before getting under the ball and lofted it inside out over the deep extra cover as the ball sailed over the fence for a towering six.

The 25-year-old also put pressure on his opposite number, the DC captain, Axar Patel, with successive sixes and moved away to 45 runs off just 27 balls.

RR gains back momentum thanks to Parag’s heroics

Dhruv Jurel and Parag settled down the nerves with a 102-run partnership for the third wicket against Delhi before Axar broke the stumps with the wicket of Jurel, who ended up with 42 runs in 30 balls at a strike rate of 140, thanks to four boundaries and one six.

Parag, meanwhile, celebrated his half-century of 32 balls and continued the same aggression in the middle overs as the Royals crossed the 100-run mark in the 12th over.
