India got the chasing target of 237 runs in the Sydney ODI, while they already lost the series by 2-0 before the final game of the three-match ODI series on Saturday (October 25). Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a perfect start with the 69-run partnership for the first wicket. After the dismissal of the Indian captain Shubman Gill for 24 runs, Rohit had a brilliant 168-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the unbroken second wicket, as India won by nine wickets after chasing the target in 38.3 overs.

Rohit Sharma recorded his 50th international century
Rohit scored a 105-ball century as it was his 33rd ODI century. It was Rohit's 50th international century, as he became the third Indian and 10th overall batter to record at least 50 international centuries.

As it was Rohit's ninth ODI century against Australia, he equalled the record for most ODI centuries against Australia, as the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar previously held this record alone with nine ODI hundreds against this team.
Rohit scored 121 not out off 125 balls with 13 fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Kohli scored his 226th international 50+ score by remaining not out at 74 runs off 81 balls with seven fours, as he ended the game with a four.
It was Rohit's second ODI century at Sydney Cricket Ground, as he became the first Indian to record more than one ODI century at Sydney Cricket Ground. With his three sixes in the match, Rohit reached 349 ODI sixes, as he is just two sixes away from the most ODI sixes record of the former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, who smashed 351 ODI sixes.
Rohit Sharma won the Player of the Match award in the Syndey ODI and also claimed the Player of the Series award.
