SCL 2025, Match 5: Amo Sharks vs Band-e-Amir Dragons full match highlights

Match 5 of the Shpageeza Cricket League 2025 (SCL) was between the Band-e-Amir Dragons and the Amo Sharks at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium. After winning the toss, the Dragons opted to bat and set a formidable target of 199/4 in 20 overs. However, despite a strong batting performance, the Amo Sharks chased it down in a thrilling contest, securing a three-wicket win in the final over.

The Dragons’ innings was powered by captain Hashmatullah Shahidi’s classy 73 off 51 balls. Opening with him, Mohammad Shahzad gave the team the early impetus with a quick-fire 68 off just 38 balls, while Gulbadin Naib provided good support with a rapid 25 from 14 balls. The trio set the early pace for a very large total. Among the bowlers, Ahmadzai was best for the Sharks with 2/44 from his 4 overs, while Farooqi (1/28) and Aftab Alam (1/39) took very important wickets that ensured it was not a bigger score.

In response, Amo Sharks managed a steady chase, reaching 203/7 in 20 overs. Shahidullah Kamal was the top scorer with a composed 44 off 33 balls, well supported by middle-order contributions from Hassan Eisakhil (35 off 22) and Imran Mir (35 off 23). Despite the regular fall of wickets, the Sharks maintained their composure to cross the finish line. Band-e-Amir Dragons’ bowlers were unable to contain the Sharks under pressure. Izharulhaq Naveed picked up 2/27 in his 3 overs, while Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar (2/34) and Nangeyalia Kharote (1/17) kept the contest alive till the final overs.
