Boost Defenders edged past Band-e-Amir Dragons by 9 runs in Match 10 of the 2025 Shpageeza Cricket League in a nail-biting finish. After being asked to bat first, the Defenders piled up 212/5 on the board, thanks to a composed 86 off 57 balls by Wasim Akram. He received able support from Allah Noor (41 off 23) and Najibullah Zadran (36 off 11), who provided the late fireworks. Mohammad Saleem Safi (2/28) and Nangeyalia Kharote (1/27) were the pick of the bowlers for the Dragons.
In response, Band-e-Amir Dragons made a strong start and stayed in the hunt till the end. Gulbadin Naib made 57 off 26 balls, and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 49 off 37 balls. However, Boost Defenders’ young spinner Noor Ahmad produced a match-winning spell of 5/28, derailing the Dragons' charge. The Bin-e-Amir Dragons finished with 203/8 in their 20 overs and lost by 9 runs.
This result moved Boost Defenders up 4 points with a rate of +0.539 to stay in third position in the table. Band-e-Amir Dragons also sit on four points with a rate of +0.082, just behind the Defenders due to the NRR being less.
