Watch: Shai Hope's superb one-handed catch dismisses Pavan Rathnayake — WI vs SL 2nd T20I
The West Indies captain, Shai Hope, grabbed a superb one-handed catch to dismiss Pavan Rathnayake during the second T20I against Sri Lanka at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

For two successive T20Is of the ongoing three-match series against West Indies at the Sabina Park in Jamaica, Sri Lanka’s middle-order batter, Pavan Rathnayake, was dismissed through a fine catch from the opponent side. In the second T20I, it came through the home captain, Shai Hope.
West Indies came into this encounter on the back of their memorable victory by seven wickets in the opening clash at the same venue. However, quite interestingly, they decided to chase on a used surface even against the spin trio of the Island side.
The catch: Shai Hope dives full length to pull off a one-handed screamer behind the wicket
It was the third ball of the seventh over during the first innings from Shamar Springer, who replaced Jason Holder for this contest. The right-arm pacer made an impact straightaway. But he would have thanked his captain for a splendid catch behind the stumps.

Pavan Rathnayake stayed leg side against the leg delivery seaming in on the off stump as he managed to get a thick outside edge behind. Shai Hope was about to move to his left as he had been following the trajectory of the ball.
But, at the last moment, he changed his way and showed some great footwork before diving full length to his right like a goalkeeper to take the one-handed blinder to send back the batter. It was a great start after the power play for the West Indies side.

“Yeah, just stuck to the right. Put the hand out, and it stuck.” Hope reflected on his catch at the end of the contest.
