Shikhar Dhawan ties the knot with Sophie Shine in Gurugram, registers marriage after private ceremony

Shikhar Dhawan who used to open for India has now officially married his spouse Sophie Shine through their wedding registration in Gurugram which occurred three weeks after their private marriage ceremony earlier this year. The couple visited the marriage registrar's office in Gurugram on Wednesday to complete the legal formalities in the presence of close family members and friends.

According to reports, Dhawan and Sophie arrived at the registrar's office in Vikas Sadar during the afternoon and completed the process within a short time before receiving their marriage certificate. The couple held their special day in a manner which they wished to keep unknown to others.

Dhawan and Sophie had already married in an intimate ceremony held in the Delhi-NCR region on February 21, 2026. The wedding celebrations were attended by only a select group of family members and close friends.

Dhawan wore a dark blue T-shirt for the marriage registration while Sophie chose to wear a light sky-blue outfit. Fans across social media platforms began sharing videos which showed the scene outside the registrar's office. The reports confirmed that seven family members and close associates joined the couple during their legal registration process.

Private Gurugram ceremony attended by close friends and family members

The couple showed their romantic relationship to the public for an extended period before they chose to admit their relationship in 2025. Dhawan and Sophie started their relationship in Dubai and continued their relationship for more than a year until they chose to advance their relationship further.

Sophie Shine, an Irish native, serves as the current director of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. The couple became engaged on January 12 of this year and they subsequently married in February. The wedding festivities included several cricket players who attended the events while Yuzvendra Chahal and others shared their experiences from the wedding on social platforms.

The former India batter who people know as "Gabbar" still remains one of the most popular figures in Indian cricket while his personal life news continues to draw huge interest from his fans. Dhawan and Sophie have completed their first official marriage registration which documents their continuing relationship.
