During the first session of the third day’s play during the one-off Test between India and Afghanistan at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Mohammed Siraj and Rahmat Shah got engaged in a fiery conversation with each other.

Under the heat, on the previous delivery of the altercation, Siraj bowled a length delivery to the right-handed batter, who defended it back to the bowler. The pacer wasn’t happy with something and smashed the ball into the stumps even after Rahmat being inside the crease.

Since the moment Sharafuddin Ashraf, who was injured, came to the crease, Rahmat Shah had decided not to give the singles to the batter, who was struggling to use his feet at that time.

It was the 53rd delivery of the first innings when Siraj came steaming in to bowl the short ball against Rahmat, who got on top of the bounce to pull it to the mid-wicket fence. But he, surprisingly, decided to go against the single.

On the very next delivery, the right-handed batter punched the ball to deep mid-on and wanted the single. But the injured batter, on the other end, sent his partner back. The fourth ball of the over was defended by the batter, to which Siraj came close to the batter.

The Hyderabad-born showed Rahmat the gaps in the field and perhaps told him to take the singles in those places. He almost got into the head of the batter, who went for an uppish drive on the fifth ball and missed the outside edge by a whisker.
