The much-awaited wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely after Smriti’s father, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden heart attack on Sunday morning. What was expected to be one of the most joyful events of the year has now been placed on hold, with the family focusing completely on his health and recovery.

The news was confirmed by Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, who spoke to the media and explained what happened. According to him, During breakfast Mr. Mandhana suddenly fell sick. The family thought it was something minor to begin with, but in a few minutes, his condition began to deteriorate. Realising the seriousness, they immediately called an ambulance and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he is now under observation.

"In the morning, when he was doing breakfast, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana health looked in bad shape. We waited a little while, but did not want to take a lot of risk. We called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He was under observation. And Smriti is very close to her father, so she has decided that until his father gets back on track, the marriage will be postponed indefinitely," Mishra told reporters.

Pre-Wedding Celebrations Halt After Medical Emergency

Smriti and Palash’s wedding festivities had already begun in Sangli, Maharashtra, with mehendi, sangeet, and haldi ceremonies held earlier in the week. The couple, which started dating in 2019 and kept their relationship private until 2024, had planned intimate celebrations with close family members and guests from the sports and music fields.

Earlier in the day, an ambulance had unexpectedly appeared at the venue, which caused a lot of confusion and panic. Videos of the ambulance surfaced on social media amidst much speculation over what must have happened. It has now been confirmed that it arrived to attend to Mr. Mandhana after his health scare. According to Mishra, doctors have advised continued hospital monitoring, and while the family hopes for a full recovery, they remain deeply shaken by the sudden incident.
