Star player ruled out of ENG vs IND 4th Test in Manchester as report reveals replacement
Star player is ruled out of ENG vs IND 4th Test in Manchester as the reports reveal the replacement.

Just three days before the start of the fourth test of the five-match series against England at Old Trafford in Manchester, India have received a major blow with their star pacer expected to be ruled out for the fixture. The left-arm seamer, Arshdeep Singh, suffered a cut on his bowling hand during the nets session on July 17 while stopping a ball that was hit by Sai Sudharsan.
His hand was stitched up, and from that action, it looked unlikely for him to turn up for the fourth game. There is suspense on Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep’s availability after the latter struggled with a groin-niggled during the third game at Lord’s, where the tourists faced a 22-run defeat.

India’s assistant coach, Ryan Ten Doeschate, has addressed that with the series on line, Bumrah is likely to feature in Manchester. But he will need support from the other end. Mohammed Siraj will be drained out after three successive Tests, while Prasidh Krishna didn’t look threatening at Leeds and Edgbaston. That’s where problems start to arise among the fans and the management.

The reports have claimed that the board has added the fast bowler, Anshul Kamboj, to the red-ball side. The right-arm pacer, who played the IPL 2025 with the Chennai Super Kings and was part of the India A side playing two three-day games last month, took five wickets in those encounters. He also impressed the selectors with his speed and tight line, having taken 79 wickets in 24 first-class games for Haryana.
The tourists are already sweating for the injury of wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant, who was struck on the index finger of his left hand while attempting to collect the ball from Jasprit Bumrah before the wobble seam of his finger and pushed the nail inside the skinny part. If he doesn’t gain full fitness, then he may get a chance as a specialist batter while Dhruv Jurel could get the gloves.
However, that selection will leave out one of Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy, both of whom did a decent job in London last week. In Manchester, India has played nine Tests but is yet to taste a victory, along with four defeats.
